Q&A
Our staff often get asked the following question when embarking on a weight loss program.
Q. I want to lose weight. Wont strength training just add more bulk?
A. Absolutely not! Strength training will only boost your weight loss process. Its as simple as this – muscle is a calorie burning machine. The more muscle you have the higher your metabolism. The higher your metabolism the more calories you will burn whether you are running, lifting weights or just sitting on the couch! Your best bet is to begin a safe progressive strength program in addition to your cardio. Ask one of our personal trainers for the best advice.
